Gay Pride, and why it's hurting a cause.

Well, here we are again, approaching the dog days of summer. What better to accompany the sweet smells and sounds of summer, than 1000's of 3/4 naked gay men and women crowding the streets of the world's most populous cities? In my opinion? Everything. The problem I find in gay pride celebrations and whatnot is not just the fact that they represent the gay community as a sex based community....it doesn't achieve something gay people desperately search for....equality. If gay people want equality, don't you think that is better fought through protest marches and court rooms....not on the streets flaunting tight abs, and holding drag queen competitions. Do we see Straight people having straight pride parades? No we do not...If gay people wish to gain equality in such a world as this, we should start acting like citizens as a part of this world. No more gay pride...no more showing off of a sex dominated community. No parades...no rainbows...no colors....no drag queens. As much as we have a right to engage in anyone of these activities...I find that it is not beneficial the cause of human rights at this point in the fight. Fight on, but fight on in different ways. Use a lawyer, not a float on which to take off all your clothes and dance.

Healthcare....

Before I right my post on this subject, I pose this question to you...Do poor people deserve healthcare?

Live and Let Live?

What ever happened to the I live my life and you live your life rule....Under such circumstances, wouldn't all, if not most people be happy. I don't seem to understand. If one is a true Christian, and does not wish to have homosexuals marry, don't you think you shouldn't be getting married to a member of the same sex.? That seems logical, does it not? Why must you complain about the lives of others, and try to control them. This is not a religious issue...especially to us non believers, it is a legal issue, which is why the constitution must be upheld. We are not a theocracy. Your religious rules apply to YOU, not ME.

Today's Thoughts

Today, since this is my first posting. I wish to examine some recent events. First in line, is so far my favorite. It is a plot line i will use in my first feature length film The Adventures of Mark Sanford. As we all know by now, Republican Governor and staunch conservative who spoke vigorously against Bill Clinton when he had his own, "sexual problems" (Not just with us wife, but also with his choice of woman....yuck!) , has admitted he has been "unfaithful" to his wife. The best part of this story? It wasn't even in America. Mark Sanford, conservative Governor of the most belligerent state in this union (until Tejas threatened to secede), doesn't even fuck American. COMMIE!. Anyway, what does this tell us, when a leading Conservative voice who's every fourth word is a bible verse and speaks so forcefully against gay marriage, goes and commits adultery on foreign soil? Does it tell us the Conservatives speak bullshit? I don't think just one case of a mand cheating on his wife is......oh wait, shit John Ensign, oh wait.....David Vitter......oh wait! Larry Craig. Of course there will be some serious Conservative backlash if I don't mention Spitzer and Mcgreevy, and Clinton. The only reason I think people criticize the Republicans for doing stuff like this more thatn Democrats, is because republicans are high on the words "sanctity of marriage". But after these people.....what does that even mean any more....So i pose this question to you...Sanctity of Marriage, bullshit? or not bullshit? Comments and a healthy argument are welcome. More comments on more news stories to follow when I have more time to write these. Coming up, unless there is a change of topic due to unexpected breaking news....my next post shall be dealing with the Iranian protests and elections, and the issue of American Involvement in overseas issues such as this.

Grand Opening!

Today, June 26th, 2009, I began this blog with the goal of sharing my own political views and commenting on the political views and actions of others. Each day, at any specific time, I will make one large post commenting on the days news stories and my own observation of poilitical actions and notions throught the world, as well as several smaller concentrated posts as I deem necessary.Have no doubt that I am indeed a liberal, however, my observations will mostly always be rooted in fact and science and will rarely stray into a personal realm where these two important factors of truth do not exist. With that said, stay tuned for my first worldly related post later tonight.
